Hi, my name is Russ Cowdell, I wanted to become a radio presenter after first tuning into Ian Perry’s midnight line on beacon radio in the late ’80s as a 12-year-old kid. I soon discovered how intimate radio is compared to the tv which made that more special to me. Thus wanted to be that friend coming out of the speaker the listeners feel they know personally.

I fell in love with CCRFM as a listener straight away as it reminded me of how beacon radio was in the late 80’s/early 90’s proper local radio. At the moment I specialise in music from the 1980s along with cheese for those folks. One thing. i love most about being a presenter is the satisfaction you get when you know the listeners are entertained and are enjoying what you do, also when they feel like they know you and have a friend talking to them personally it makes the whole atmosphere change within the studio!

So tune in to the 80's Time Machine 11 pm on a Tuesday till 1:00 am and sit back listening to the greatest hits of the '80s.
